PHS PTSA 2008-2009 Helping our kids; helping our school
Our PTSA has taken a hands-on approach to supporting the teachers, students and parents of Pasadena High School. We've continued several exciting programs and added a few as well:
Wish List: In past year's the PTSA implemented the Teacher's Wish List and for the school year 2007 - 2008 school year the PTSA implmented a "School Wide Wish List Project". With the receipt of a $5,000 LOWES grant and with the help of PHS parents, the Pasadena Educational Foundation, the PHS Alumni, and various neighborhood businesses, we were able to raise enough funds to purchase over $17,000 worth of benches, recycling bins, trash receptacles, trees, bushes and plants for th campus.
These projects require funds that are not available. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to the PHS PTSA Wish List (Federal ID # 95-3125708). For additional information please contact Connie Brown at connie@jigglyjoints.com Future projects include:
Continue planting roses, trees, flowers and shrubs throughout the campus
Refurbish benches to be used in the Bulldog Beautification Project
Renovate restrooms to create safe and sanitary conditions. Work with the adminsitration to get more restrooms available on campus.
Parent Communication: The PTSA is looking for more ways to help parents connect with the school. Currently, we are offering to send the Daily Bulletin to all parents via e-mail. The Daily Bulletin is read to the students everyday and contains information about events happening on campus as well as important dates and reminders. In addition, the Daily Bulletin is posted on the school's web site www.pasadenahigh.org. If you would like to receive the Daily Bulletin, please e-mail Connie Brown at connie@jigglyjoints.com A goal for next year is to help provide the parents with additional newsletters throughout the year.
Campus Beautification: The PTSA organizes Campus Beautification/Work Days. This past school year we received a $5,000 grant from Lowe's - so we scheduled two Campus Beautification/'Work Day's. On Saturday, October 20, 2007 and on Saturday, March 29, 2008 our volunteers painted, planted trees & bushes, put in sprinklers and generally helped make Pasadena High School a more beautiful campus. To help with future work days contact Madalyn Jones Barber at maddjb22@yahoo.com All volunteers are welcome!!
